- 1). Verify the holes are properly drilled on the door for installation of the hardware. Use the provided templates to match them up. Measure from the center of the pre-drilled door lock down 5 1/2 inches. This is where the dead bolt will be installed.
- 2). Open the door and install the latch provided into the pre-drilled hole on the inside of the door frame. Screw it in place in the two holes with the provided mounting screws.
- 3). Install the handle of the lock on both the interior and exterior of the door. Line up the exterior lock with the interior and screw them in place with the provided mounting screws and a screwdriver. Make sure they are properly lined up straight. It is best to have two people for this part of the installation to make it easier to screw in the lock.
- 4). Install the keypad part of the deadbolt into the hole provided on the exterior side of the door. Slide the bar through the hole in the latch. Rotate slightly for proper aligning if necessary. Connect the mounting plate on the interior of the door to the bar coming through from the outside. Insert two screws and tighten with a screwdriver.
- 5). Connect the provided wire harness to the connector cable on the inside of the door. Attach the 9-volt battery and slide it in to its proper compartment. Tuck in all the wires and place the interior lock assembly cover plate over all the wires. Secure it with two mounting screws in the provided holes.
- 6). Screw the strike plate on to the door jamb with 3/4-inch mounting screws and a screw driver. Open and close the door to verify everything is in proper working order.
