    Considerations

    • Reaching that goal of ideal fitness will be different for someone who is slim or lean, versus someone who may be overweight. If you are new to working out, or a veteran in the gym who let his exercise regime slip, there will be a difference.

    Diet

    • Someone that is overweight will want to focus on cutting body-fat percentage. He will have to decrease his daily caloric intake, making sure to burn more calories than consumed. Someone slim or lean will want to make sure they consume enough calories to bulk up and feed muscle development.

    Excercise

    • More than likely, you will have to spend a few weeks focused on cutting body fat percentage, and then a few weeks bulking up. You will get bigger muscles and a six pack quicker this way. The best way to lose weight is lots of cardio, jogging or working on cardio machines. You can bulk up by focusing on the muscles you want to get bigger and using them in resistance exercises. An example would be your chest and biceps. A great exercise, but not the only one, to bulk these muscles up would be the classic bench press.
