- 1). Navigate to the section of deviantart.com in which you would like to use special formatting.
- 2). Type the opening elbow bracket (<), followed by the style element that you would like to use. For example, to type in bold, type "<strong" without quotes.
Other elements that you can use are underline (u), italic (em), subscript (sub) and superscript (sup). - 3). Type a closing elbow bracket at the end of your element. For our example, you would have <strong>.
- 4). Follow the formatted words with the closing tag. A closing tag is also enclosed in elbow brackets, and is preceded by a slash. In this case the closing tag is </strong>.
