On the previous page I outlined 9-11 ceremonies and events in Phoenix. Here are the scheduled events for Scottsdale and Tempe.

Scottsdale

Event: Public Safety Display
Date: Every Monday through Friday in September 2015 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: 8401 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale

A piece of steel from the World Trade Center Towers will be displayed. It will be converted to a permanent display/memorial at a later date.

Tempe

Event: 9-11 Heroes Run
Date: Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 7:30 a.m.
Where: Tempe Beach Park

The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K welcomes runners and walkers of all levels and of all ages. Events take place all over the world, on or near September 11, and are 100% organized by local community volunteers. Cost: 5K = $30, Family of 4 = $100 (plus fee). There is also a one-mile Fun Run / Walk.  You must register online by August 31st to be guaranteed a race shirt.

Event: 9-11 Healing Field
Date: September 10 - 14, 2015 from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Where: Healing Field at Tempe Beach Park

The Exchange Club of Tempe and the City of Tempe team up to host the Annual Healing Field display which posts three thousand U.S. flags. These 3 x 5 flags will stand 8 feet tall in perfect rows in an awe-inspiring display and tribute to those who died in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Healing Field is the nation’s longest, consecutive-running Sept. 11, 2001 tribute event, where one American flag is flown for every person who died as a result of the terrorist attacks on our nation.

There will be a walk of remembrance through the memorial.
