How to Make Stall Nameplates
- 1). Make a piece of transparency with the name you want etched onto the nameplate. This piece of transparency should be the same size as a stencil sheet with adhesive on the back that you can later remove and place on the nameplate. Place the transparency on top of the colored stencil sheet so that they line up however you want them to.
- 2). Place these lined-up sheets into an etching machine under a thick piece of glass. Close off the area around the glass with the metal piece that should be included with the etching machine. Set a timer for three minutes and turn the etching machine on. An intense beam of light will be shot through the glass, over the transparency and into the stencil sheet with adhesive on the back.
- 3). Remove the transparency and stencil sheet. Place the stencil sheet in a small tub of water and lightly rub the surface with a sponge. The areas that were not intensely heated by the light, those that were under the shadow of the transparency, will come off in the water. You will now have the names on the stencil sheet.
- 4). Remove the stencil sheet from the tub of water and use a hair dryer to dry it off. Cut the dry sheet of stencil and adhesive in a manual paper cutter. Cut it to fit on a piece of plastic or metal that can then slide into the nameplate holder outside the stall.
