How to Visit a USDA Facility
- 1). Determine the USDA affiliation you will need to visit by establishing the type of service or advice you're seeking. There are nearly 30 different USDA agencies and offices specifically assigned to different agricultural concerns. Review the directory online to decide which branch you will need to consult (see Resources).
- 2). Use the USDA Office Information Profile System (see Resources) to locate the nearest USDA Service Center. You will find the physical address and all necessary contact information upon your search. Each location is designed to provide customers with full service by the Farm Service Agency, Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Rural Development agencies.
- 3). Call the USDA Service Center to find out if an appointment is needed before appearing in person. This will depend on the nature of your visit and which services you'll be needing. Save yourself the drive by calling ahead of time.
- 4). Follow the driving directions provided by the Office Information Profile System search results. Arrive on time for any scheduled appointments to ensure that you can be seen that day, and bring any necessary documents requested of you.
