Once you've concluded that a new roof is in your future, how does one go about choosing the right roofing contractor, one with integrity, skill and that is affordable?

Well, I say the number one thing you do is pick somebody you trust. We all have to trust people every day in our walk. Pick the right guy to deal with our car. Pick the right people to look after our kids. We've got to pick all the right things, and trust is such an important component.

Number two would be how about certifications? Certifications are where somebody else does the bragging about the person youre looking at. Everybody's going to brag and tell you how good they are. But, how about getting a third party to do some bragging.

Number three referrals would work, thats another person who can brag. Neighbors bragging. Friends bragging. Those kinds of things are important. If you can make your friends and neighbors happy, probably will make you happy too.

Then we've got to talk about the nuts and bolts stuff. How about insurances? What an important piece of getting the right roofing contractor. In today's tough times, people are cutting out of things. Insurance is not something you want to cut out of. Proper workman's comp is critical. Roofing is a very dangerous job.

How about liability insurance in case something gets damaged on the site, something in your house, or something around the house. How about automobile insurances. We're bringing big trucks and equipment to your home to do this job. It's really important that they're all properly insured. Just dont ask for the certificate of insurance, demand it, or have it faxed to you directly from the insurance company so that you can be sure that you're protected. That's a critical component as well.

So trust, referrals, accreditations, and proper insurances. It's a great place to start.
