- 1). Place 4 lbs. resin, 2 lbs. beeswax and 1 lb. tallow into a large pot and melt it over low heat. You may need to cut the beeswax into smaller pieces if the block is too large for the pot.
- 2). Pour cold water into a bucket and pour the hot wax into the water. Pull the wax, underwater, using your hands, as if pulling taffy, suggests agriculturists with the Alabama Cooperative Extension. Pull the wax until it is the color of straw.
- 3). Roll the wax into individual balls and store it in a cool area until you need it.
