These metal stoppers are typically longer than they are round and are made to support the weight of the earring. Metal stoppers can be reused over and over, however they do not stretch like their plastic or foam counterparts, making it necessary to purchase metal stoppers for specific pairs of earrings or use them for other earrings that are exactly the same size.
