During weekends and holidays, when the replica of a Kuikuro village at Toca da Raposa is open to visitors, it is possible to see the importance of body art and adornments to the Kuikuro, who, like other members of the Carib language group, are known for their skill in the making of snail shell necklaces and belts.

A great variety of patterns, including some quite intricate geometrical designs, are used in Kuikuro body art.
