- 1). Right-click on a blank area of the taskbar.
- 2). Select the "Toolbars" option.
- 3). Click the "Windows Search Deskbar" item. This removes the check mark listed next to the item, disables the feature and clears the search icon from the Notification Area of the taskbar.
