London is not a cheap city to visit. Between transport, food and accommodation, you're bound to spend a good chunk of money. Fortunately, many of the attractions, including major museums, are free to visit. Others cost a lot. It may be tempting to skip them, especially if you're traveling with a large family. However, you may regret missing out on some fantastic experiences. - Opened just in time for the new millennium, the London Eye is a very popular, if pricey, tourist attraction. In the early days, you had to book weeks in advance to get a ticket, then queue on the day. Now you can just turn up and buy a ticket for the 30-minute ride. The wheel takes you 443 ft above London, giving you a great view of the city. Sunset rides are especially popular. For a truly romantic experience, you can book the entire capsule all to yourself. It comes with a bottle of champagne. An adult ticket on the London Eye costs £17.95. A child ticket costs £9.50. (Prices accurate as of August, 2010.)
