- 1). Type "*#06#" into your phone. A 15-digit number will appear. This is the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number. This is what is used to identify your phone. Write the number down.
- 2). Go to a mobile unlock website on your computer. These sites can provide you with a code to unlock your phone.
- 3). Type in the IMEI number in the appropriate box. In the drop down box put in the make and model of the phone and choose the country and carrier where your phone is registered. Enter a valid e-mail address and payment details if necessary. You'll get your unlock codes within 48 hours via e-mail.
- 4). Turn the power on your phone off and remove the battery and SIM card. Replace your SIM card with one from a different network.
- 5). Replace the battery and turn the power your phone back on. You will get a message that says "Enter Subsidy Code." Put in the code that you received in the e-mail and click the "OK" button. The phone will emit several beeps and then you will get a picture of the new network carrier on the phone.
