Different Styles for Curly Hair

    Elegantly Piled

    • Naturally tight ringlet curls work best for this look. Wash your curls with a moisturizing shampoo, preferably one with no sulfates. Treat your hair with a leave-in conditioner, and then blow it dry with a diffuser. If you hair is prone to frizz, spray on a heat protector beforehand. Once dry, gather only the hair above the crown into a ponytail. Tuck the underside of the ponytail into the elastic to make a bun. The rest of your hair should be left out to cascade down.

    Braided Curlytail

    • This look is controlled yet fun and will work on any type of curly hair. Take freshly-washed, curly hair and apply a shine serum to it. Blow dry with a diffuser and finger comb a texturizing mousse through it. Make small braids in the back of the hair; the braids can vary in length so long as they are braided far enough down that they look like braids. Finally, gather the hair into a low ponytail and secure it fairly tightly with an elastic. Finish with hairspray and a headband for a sweet, girl-next-door look.

    Pinned Curly Look

    • This elegant look is ideal for prom or a dinner date. Take freshly washed and dried curly hair and apply a shine serum to the ends. With this style, the ends can become frayed or split if you aren't careful, so be gentle. Gently work the serum up to your roots. Gather the hair into a ponytail at the crown of your head and gently rub a moisturizer through the curls. Pin the ends of the curls to the base of the ponytail. Take care to frame the hair so the elastic is not showing. When finished with the pinning, spray with hairspray to hold the style.
