- 1). Click "Start" and right-click on "Computer." Select "Properties." The computer name, description and workgroup information is listed near the bottom of the basic information screen, just above the Windows Activation section.
- 2). Press "Change Settings" and supply the administrator password if prompted.
- 3). Select the "Change" button on the "Computer Name" tab of the system properties dialog box.
- 4). Change the computer name or workgroup name if desired. Click "OK" and allow the computer to restart for the settings to take effect.
