How to Remove Pink Hair Dye
- 1). Use Colorfix to remove permanent dyes. Colorfix does not bleach, damage or otherwise affect your hair's natural color, unlike most of the other color removing products.
- 2). Apply Colorfix to the pink hair dye while your hair is completely dry. Mix equal parts of the Colorfix Part 1 Color Reducer and the Colorfix Part 2 Conditioning Catalyst in a bowl or applicator bottle. Use more for longer hair, less for shorter hair.
- 3). Use a tint brush to quickly apply the mixture evenly throughout the dyed hair. The mixture's ability to remove color decreases over time, so apply as quickly as possible. If using an applicator bottle, shake up the mixture for one minute, and gently work the mixture into the dyed hair for total hair penetration.
- 4). Cover hair with a loose plastic shower cap, and let the mixture sit in your hair for 20 minutes. Lightly blowing your hair with a hair dryer using warm heat can speed up the process.
- 5). Thoroughly rinse the mixture out of your hair for 3 to 5 minutes; then shampoo and rinse.
- 6). Repeat steps 2 and 3 if one application has not completely removed the pink hair dye. Do not use more than 2 or 3 times, however, as this can put too much stress on your hair and scalp.
- 7). Apply the included Processing Lotion to your hair once you have successfully removed the pink hair dye. Let the Processing Lotion sit for 5 minutes and rinse.
- 8). Thoroughly dry your hair using warm heat. Using a hot temperature setting could irritate the scalp.
