How to Unclog a Hobart Dishwasher

104 6
    • 1). Go to the main electrical panel and find the dedicated circuit breaker powering your Hobart dishwasher. Check the breaker to ensure it is not tripped off or to the neutral position. If the dedicated breaker is in the neutral position, the breaker might be bad or the electrical load is too heavy for the breaker.

    • 2). Turn the dedicated circuit breaker off. Open your Hobart dishwasher's door then close it to see if it is closing tightly, latching into place. If it will not latch properly, attempt to manipulate the latch manually by hand to close the appliance properly.

    • 3). Empty your Hobart dishwasher. Take out any dishes, along with the top rack and bottom rack, to gain access to the drain at the bottom.

    • 4). Scoop out any standing water at the bottom of your Hobart dishwasher with a measuring cup, if applicable. Pick out any food by hand, as well. Wait a moment to see if your Hobart drains.

    • 5). Use pliers to unfasten the lower spray arm. Pull the drain cap off and look inside for any visible obstructions. Should any obstructions be visible, pick them out by hand or with tweezers.

    • 6). Set a plunger over the drain and attempt to plunge your Hobart dishwasher. If not successful, use a drain auger by inserting it into the drain and cranking the lever to unblock the drain line.

    • 7). Reattach the lower spray arm, insert the top and bottom racks into place and turn the dedicated breaker back on once you have unstopped the Hobart dishwasher's drain.
