Create Your Own Hero"s Journey

What do they mean when they say "The Road Is Better Than The Inn?" If you've ever been on a trip, sometimes getting there is more fun than being there.
When you're on the road, you can use your imagination to create a wonderful picture of where you're going.
As you're going there, you are filled with expectation, and powerful ideas of what will happen when you get there.
It's kind of another way of saying that imagining something is sometimes much better than the actual thing.
This is one of the reasons movies are never as good as the book.
Even a 200 million dollar budget, the best actors and directors Hollywood has is NOTHING compared to our imaginations.
When I was a bit younger, me and my buddies would take trips to Vegas, from Los Angeles.
The drive is about four hours, and we'd usually leave early in the morning, get there, drink and gamble until we were broke, and then drive home the next morning.
The drive there was usually the best part.
Our minds were filled with vague but positive expectations of how much money we were going to make.
The first few hours we got there were similarly exciting.
And the times that we actually WON money and came back ahead, well that was pretty amazing.
But even the times where we DID make money, it was still more fun on the drive out.
If you've ever spent a long time achieving something, you may have felt a little "let down" when you got there.
It's been said that Alexander wept when he had no more lands to conquer.
Humans are built to go after goals.
The thrill is in the hunt, not the acquisition.
This is when we feel most alive.
When we are firing on all cylinders, and getting closer and closer to our dreams.
The key is to find that perfect balance of acquisition and pursuit.
So your dreams are always getting bigger, always getting closer, and always getting more and more real.
While at the same time, consistently increasing the flow of income into your bank account.
Not only getting positive feedback on a day to day basis, but building a bigger future on a day to day basis as well.
I'll admit, thought, that getting to this "balance point" ain't exactly easy.
It takes time, effort, even a little bit of risk.
After all, nothing REALLY worth getting is going to be easy.
Otherwise everybody else would have it also.
Where would be the fun in that? But when you make a solid decision to build your own life based on your own dreams, and take consistent action towards those dreams, MAGIC will happen.
