How to Put Skins on Your Mobile Phone
- 1). Buy a skin that perfectly fits your cell phone model. You can find these skins at a cell phone accessories shop or some retail outlets, such as Walmart. You can also purchase cell phone skins online. Give your cell phone model number to the salesperson, and he will show you skins designed for your handset. Before making the purchase, carefully read the packaging to make sure it is designed for your handset.
- 2). Turn your phone off and remove the battery. Since you will be applying a little water to the exterior of the cell phone in the next steps, it is important that you take the battery out.
- 3). Mix a quarter teaspoon of liquid soap with 10 ounces water. Prepare this solution in a small bowl.
- 4). Spray trace of solution on your fingers. Slowly peel the skin off from the liner. As you peel it off, spray the solution on the adhesive side of the skin. Make sure the skin isn't dripping wet and is just slightly dampened.
- 5). Place the new skin on your cell phone. At this point, the skin will be sliding freely on the phone's surface. If it doesn't, apply a little more soap solution.
- 6). Smooth the skin down into place. Use your thumbs to slowly rub the skin over the surface of the phone. Start rubbing from the sides and work your way to the top of the phone. Press out some of the water from under the skin using your fingers. However, be careful while doing this, as you do not want the skin moving from its place.
- 7). Press a credit card (or a similar item) on top of the phone to squeeze out bubbles and remaining water from under the skin. If you still find bubbles or you do not think the skin is setting properly, just remove the skin right away and start over from Step 4. If you do not do so, the skin will set within 15 minutes and it will not budge without getting distorted.
- 8). Wait another 24 hours before using your cell phone. This will allow the skin to set properly. After 24 hours, reinstall the battery and use your phone.
