Before You Buy A Bowflex Revolution

While this machine would be great for those bouncing back from an injury, it is hardly a machine for someone who needs a serious gym quality workout.
At lighter weights the machine performs OK but feels very fragile at it's mid to upper end weight scale.
The Bowflex Revolution in no way provides a "gym quality workout" especially at this hefty price tag.
I love cable type workouts but the feel of this machine coupled with the cheep plates provided left me disappointed.
On the Bowflex site it states that the workout area for this machine is 5' by 7' but in actuality you will need 11' by 7' in order to change the plates and to have a full range of motion.
As the Spiraflex plates are used frequently, they can have a tendency to lose their elasticity causing their resistance to deteriorate over time.
One other example would be in order to do a leg press you need to reconfigure the machine which takes some time and the bench feels like it could snap off when you perform exercises that require it.
Also, expect long shipping delays and insurances for weeks that "it's on the way any day" from the sales staff.
(Since this is considered a negative review, it has disappeared from many other review sites).
This is one of the most over hyped products I've had the pleasure to test.
In my opinion, this product doesn't live up to its expectations and deserves a 5/10 star rating.
