- 1). Insert the Windows XP installation disk into the CD or DVD-ROM tray of your HP Pavilion. Restart your HP Pavilion.
- 2). Press any button when presented with the "Press any key to boot from CD" prompt.
- 3). Press "Enter" in the "Welcome to Setup" menu that appears on your screen.
- 4). Press F8 after your read the "Microsoft Software License Terms."
- 5). Choose the XP format and hard drive you wish to install Windows XP to, then click "Next." You may choose to install a limited or full version of XP.
- 6). Follow the instructions to select settings and finish the installation.
- 7). Restart your HP Pavilion upon prompting to finalize the Windows XP installation.
