Bring Gratitude in the Financial Area of Our Lives
Financial gratitude is not something discussed, so it often sounds foreign to others when I bring it up. Being grateful in the financial area of your life means to acknowledge the resources you have in your life today. Paying attention to what you have is better than replaying in your thoughts what you are currently lacking. Feeling thankful for what you have welcome more to you and thinking mostly on what you do not have repels good things away from you.
Let me explain using this example. Let's say someone bought a nice gift for you. Yet, they heard you complaining to someone about what you didn't receive. Do you think they would be inclined to purchase another gift for you? Next year, they might decide not to go through the process of buying for you. This is the universal order of life. When you focus more on lack energetically you are pushing abundance away from you.
A personal example is that a couple of years ago, I courageously started my company, and I went through challenging moments. As a business owner, you do not start with guaranteed pay periods and you use your monetary resources for your business and professional growth. These investments decreased my net-worth but increased my personal value. Each day I chose to focus on the resources I have right now. I have  encouraging family, friends and colleagues and a life that I love.
Reading this, you might think, "yes, but how do I feel thankful when my life is hard for me right now?" I have three actions to help you turn this around.
Think more about what you have now and stop thinking about what you do not have. Do you remember the last time you complained about anything? For me, it was several years ago that I regularly complained. I was dissatisfied about my professional and personal life, so I griped about it. At that time, my friends were dissatisfied also, and we all nurtured each other's complaints. To be honest, I also felt begrudging to people that were happy with their lives.
I learned to be thankful for what I did have and stop focusing on what I didn't have at the time. In time, this mental thinking brought a positive change in my life where more good starting showing up for me. Take time and clearly define what is working in your life now.
Record what is working for you. After determining what is working in your life, write it down somewhere you can refer to it when needed. Life happens to all of us, and it is good to be able to re-read the good during those times.
Do not fear asking for what you need. While thinking about what is working for you, you are automatically going to think about the areas of your life that are not working. It is natural. When this happens, take one of those things that come up in your mind that's not working and make a plan to ask for help. Think about who and how you will ask for what you need.
Most of the time, we are too shy to ask for the assistance that we need especially women because we are used to doing it all on our own. Be confident and ask for the assistance needed. You will most likely be shocked that others are willing to assist you. Once the resource or information comes to you through others, you will feel thankful, and that creates the gratitude cycle.
These steps will help you experience gratitude in the financial area of your life. You can also offer your assistance to others to ignite a cycle of giving and gratitude within your community.
