Acrobat Scroll Bar Issues
- Adobe Acrobat is the workhorse for many publishing professionals and home users with its ability to create, read and manage portable document format files (PDFs) that can be used for printing, emailing, online viewing and exported from various applications. There are a few scroll bar issues with Acrobat, but the solidity of the program redeems itself over these minor failings.
- Acrobat Version 9 users report an issue with the Pages Navigation panel. When the panel is open and the thumbnail display is set to three or more columns, the scroll bar reaches the bottom of the page before the last row of thumbnails can be viewed. This issue can be resolved by displaying only one or two thumbnail columns at a time.
- Acrobat Version 8 users report that the scroll bar arrow disappears. When scrolling through a large document by clicking on the bottom scroll bar arrow, the scrollbar freezes and the arrow disappears. The document must be closed to clear the issue. The error occurs inconsistently and at different page intervals.
- Users who have direct rendering enabled report that some drop-down list boxes incorrectly display scroll bars. Adobe claims that this error was fixed in Version 8.1.2 of Acrobat.
- Users report that scroll bars jump from page to page. When reviewing a PDF file in Acrobat Reader, the scroll bars fail to scroll slowly down the page and instead the jump from page to page, making it difficult to read a file.
