Step back in time to 1920s New York -- when the jazz was hot, the illegal hooch was plentiful, and the dandies and dolls wore the spiffiest vintage rags.

Michael Arenella & His Dreamland Orchestra is a local New York City dance band that specializes in the sounds of the jazz age. They play their swinging 1920s tunes as a full dance orchestra or a smaller ensemble, depending on the occasion.

Recently, I saw Michael and the boys headline the 1st Annual Dreamland Beach Party at Water Taxi Beach.

Vintage bathing beauties and dapper daddies hit the dance floor and took in the skyline views and plenty of sunshine.

You can see the Dreamland Orchestra at the Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governors Island in July or at a gin joint near you this summer.
