How to Choose a Paternity Test

104 10
    • 1). Do your research and find out everything there is to know about the testing clinic. Be sure they are accredited by the American Associated of Blood Banks (AABB) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This will ensure they are doing the proper testing.

    • 2). Find a testing clinic with at least 99 percent accuracy. You may even be able to find a clinic claiming 99.9 percent accuracy on the paternity results.

    • 3). Read reviews and testimonials of the clinics you are considering to compare them and choose the one with the most positive feedback. You can do this by speaking to others who have had paternity tests done or by looking online for reviews.

    • 4). Ask the clinic how many genetic markers they look for in the paternity test and choose the clinic that looks for the highest number of markers. Clinics may look for up to 16 genetic markers which would be as high as 99.9 percent accurate. You should aim for a clinic that looks at no less than 10 markers.
