What to Do in Majorca When You Have a Holiday

Majorca is one of the largest of the Balearic islands and a very popular holiday destination as there is a lot there to do and see.
The island has many facets to it with sleepy villages, large holiday resorts, sandy beaches and beautiful scenery, and lively bars and night clubs.
One of the places that many people like to visit is Puerto Pollensa which is on the north west coast about half an hours drive from the Capital Palma.
The port here has always been popular with artists as it is very picturesque, and the area has a lot of old world grace to it.
Much of the old town has streets that are cobbled and there is a variety of historical things to see here from a lovely old Roman bridge across a stream in the centre of town, to the nearby fountain in the main square.
The main bay at Puerto Pollensa is a beautiful beach which is very popular with everyone, there are pavement cafes where you can sit and look out to sea, and many of the hotels in the area have evening entertainment which anyone can attend.
Palma, Majorca's capital city lies in a bay at the south west of the island and is the largest city on the island.
Palma is a stylish city bursting with life and fun, and there are many festivals and fiestas which take place here through the year.
For those who wish to travel round and see the sights there is a tour bus which will take you around.
The Cathedral and the museum which is associated with it make an excellent day out as well, and the city boasts a lot in the way of night life as well as many really good restaurants and shops.
About half of Majorca's population live here, so it's a very well established city.
Another very popular destination is Magaluf.
It's probably best known for it's night life which is very lively indeed boasting over 100 bars, as well as a lot of clubs and disco's which are open through the night until the early hours of the morning.
For people looking for a party atmosphere Magaluf is a must, with it's wild night life and beaches where many water sports take place during the daytime.
Really, no matter what you're looking for, Majorca has the answer, sun filled beaches, water sports, lazy days sitting in café's or shopping and dancing, the island is great for everything from couples seeking a little romance, to family holidays and groups of people looking for adventure.
