Kaleidoscope is a visual and performing arts festival held in a variety of venues in Alexandria, Virginia, showcasing more than 100 exhibitions and programs in visual art, theater, music and dance. The event presents a variety of entertainment throughout the months of September and October. The 2012 event introduces a new children’s festival with a line-up of nationally and critically acclaimed performers and hands-on activities.

Interpreting "family" very loosely, Del Ray Artisans asked area artists to show us their artistic heritage by submitting a collection of their family’s artworks. The mystery-comedy follows a young couple who renovate an abandoned synagogue in New York City into their posh dream home, and realize the synagogue’s cantor haunts the building. Written by American dramatist Ira Levin (author of “Rosemary’s Baby” and “Deathtrap”), this heart-warming and humorous production. Tickets: $17-20.
