How to Use Wired 802.1X With Guest Laptops
- 1). Log on to your laptop with an administrator account and make sure your Ethernet cable is connected to the local wired network.
- 2). Open the "Start" menu and type "services.msc" into the search box. Hit the "Enter" key.
- 3). Go to the "Standard" tab at the bottom of the window.
- 4). Right-click on the item labeled "Wired AutoConfig" and choose the "Start" option.
- 5). Open "Start" again and click on "Control Panel."
- 6). Go to the "Network and Internet" section and click on "Network and Sharing Center."
- 7). Click on the "Change adapter settings" link on the left side of the window.
- 8). Right-click on the icon of your wired Ethernet adapter and select "Properties."
- 9). Go to the "Authentication" tab and check the box next to "Enable IEEE 802.1X authentication."

Choose the "Guest Authentication" option from the drop-down list. Then, click "OK" to save the settings.
