How to Fix a Jagged Edge After a Warp in Photoshop CS3
- 1). Launch Adobe Photoshop CS3.
- 2). Select "Open" under the "File" menu and open the image file you are going to warp.
- 3). Add a new (blank) layer, under the "Layers" menu. Arrange this layer to the "back" of the project, i.e., so it is underneath the picture you're going to be warping.
- 4). Activate the layer with your image. Use the Warp tool to manipulate the image as desired.
- 5). Zoom in 100 to 200 percent so that you can work with the image edges in more detail. From your toolbox, select the "Smudge" tool. (This is the same button as the Blur tool, so you may have to switch to Smudge if Blur is on the toolbox by default.)
- 6). Go around the edges of the warped image and "smudge" any hard or jagged edges outward.
- 7). Select the blank layer that was created earlier, after the jagged edges have been smudged. Use the Fill ("paint bucket") tool to fill the blank background with a color that matches or complements your warped images.
- 8). Reselect the image layer, if the image edges are still jagged or awkward against the background color. Switch from the Smudge tool to the Blur tool. Go around the smudged edges and further blur them until they are blended with the background to your satisfaction.
