- 1). Insert the installation DVD into your computer.
- 2). Restart the computer. Press any key as prompted to boot from the DVD.
- 3). Select your language, keyboard and currency settings. Press "Next" and select "Install Now."
- 4). Click "Get Important Updates," enter your product key, click "Accept" to the license terms and select "Custom" installation.
- 5). Select the drive containing your old copy of Windows and press "Next" to complete the installation, placing the new operating system on your home computer.
