- 1). Attach an extension cord to the Weedeater that is long enough to prevent stretching or pulling. Injury occurs from trying to stretch with the Weedeater because the cord is too short.
- 2). Hold the Weedeater with both hands at all times when using it. Two hands provides you with control to prevent an injury and to improve the performance of the tool.
- 3). Extend the Weedeater out in front of your body at an angle where your hands are at waist level. Position the Weedeater head several inches off the ground.
- 4). Move the Weedeater parallel to your body and never toward your body. Move the Weedeater back and forth in front of your body at a comfortable arc; never reach with the tool.
- 5). Tilt the Weedeater head so it is closer to a 90-degree angle to the ground for edging sidewalks. Hold the Weedeater at less of an angle for regular trimming around trees and other items.
