How to Convert AVI to Play on a DVD Player
- 1). Download ConvertXtoDVD (see Resources). Start the program and click "File." Choose "Add Video File(s)" and locate the AVI file you want to convert to DVD. Click the "+" next to "Titleset" in the "Tree View" window to access the output settings. Under "Titleset," click the "+" next to "Video" to customize the resolution, aspect ratio and format for the DVD. Click the "Convert" button when finished configuring the output settings. ConvertXtoDVD will burn the DVD to disc when the conversion process completes. VSO Software offers a trial version of ConvertXtoDVD.
- 2). Use WinAVI (see Resources). Open the program and click the "DVD" button in the main menu. Select the AVI file you want to convert when prompted and click "OK." Click "Browse" in the conversion window to choose the output location. Press "Advanced" in the conversion window to configure output settings for the DVD. You can customize the format, aspect ratio, chapter length and video quality. Click "OK" in the conversion window to convert the AVI to DVD format. Burn the DVD files using a disc-burning program such as BurnAware Free, ImgBurn or Roxio Creator.
- 3). Install Wondershare Video to DVD Burner (see Resources). Start the program and press the "Load Video" button. Locate the AVI file you want to convert to DVD and click "OK." Click the "Burn" button to access the output settings. Configure the desired format and aspect ratio. Click "Open" to change the output location. Press "Start" to convert the AVI to DVD format. Burn the DVD files using disc-burning software such as BurnAware Free, ImgBurn or Roxio Creator.
