How to Prepare a Simple Quinoa Salad
This simple quinoa salad recipe shows just how easy you can include quinoa in your diet.
It takes minutes to prepare and can be eaten warm or cold.
Preparation Before you make it you need to take 1 cup of quinoa and boil it in 2 cups of water for 10-15 minutes.
When all the water has been absorbed you can include it into this salad recipe.
I prefer to cook it for the shorter time so that it is crunchy but if you like it soft and fluffy then cook it for 15 minutes.
Ingredients
Slice or grate the carrot finely Toss all the ingredients together with the quinoa.
Place on a bed of salad leaves and drizzle with the Italian Balsamic Syrup.
It can be served warm if you have not cooled the quinoa.
Variations This recipe can accompany cold meat, boiled egg or fish.
You can freely include any salad vegetables you like but I always try and ensure a good range of colurs and textures to make the salad more appetising.
A second group of salad vegetables to combine as an alternative would be, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, rocket and fresh grapes.
A good fuit salad combination would be red berries, blackberries, raspberries and melon.
Obviously you should replace the balsamic syrup with something like a juice dressing.
It can be served just with fresh cream or ice cream.
