How to Use Name Range in Excel 2007

    • 1). Highlight the cells you want to name as part of your name range. You can highlight multiple cells by holding your mouse button down and scrolling up and down or left and right.

    • 2). Click on "Formulas" at the top of the screen.

    • 3). Select "Name Manager."

    • 4). Click on "Name a Range." Select "Name a Range" from the drop-down menu. A New Name dialog box will appear.

    • 5). Review the information in the dialog box. You will see that the row or column that your cells are in is the Name field. If you would like to give your name range a different name, you can enter one of your choosing. Click "OK." You will be returned to your spreadsheet.

    • 6). Click on "Formulas" again, and select "Name Manager." Click on "Name a Range."

    • 7). Select "Apply Names." Select the name you just created, and click "OK." You will be returned to your spreadsheet. In the next open cell in your row or column, you will see that your name range has been applied.
