- 1). Open the stove door and pull out the used gasket stripping.
- 2). Scrub off any remaining pieces of the gasket stripping, using a ball of steel wool.
- 3). Place a new strip of gasketry around the opening, cutting off any extra length with scissors.
- 4). Shut the wood stove door to press the gasketry stripping into place, then immediately open up the door again. Leave the stripping undisturbed for one hour to allow it to form in the shape of the pressed-in door.
