How to Search for Ad Records in Vista

104 5
    • 1). Click to open the Start menu (the round Windows logo button on the far left side of the Windows taskbar). Alternatively, right-click on the Start menu and press "Explore."

    • 2). Type the file extension of your ad record into the built-in search box. (The file extension is the letters after the "." in the file name, e.g. ".xls" or ".txt.")

    • 3). Press the "Enter" (or "Return") key on your keyboard. The Windows Instant Search tool will now search for and display a list of all the ad records (of the specified file extension) on your computer.

    • 4). Repeat as necessary for any other file extensions. To do this, simple delete the previously entered file extension in the search box, then type in the new file extension and press "Enter."
