How to Identify a Processor From DOS

    • 1). Click the Windows "Start" button. Type "cmd" in the Windows search text box. Press "Enter" to open the MS-DOS command line utility.

    • 2). Type "systeminfo." Press "Enter." Typing the command with no switch options shows all system information for the computer, including the processor. It takes several minutes for the computer to gather the information.

    • 3). Scroll down the command line window to the location of the "Processor(s)" section. This section lists the processor name and configurations for the computer.
