About.com Rating

Malin's is a fantastic vintage clothing store located on the corner of Bedford Avenue and N. 6th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Named for its proprietor, Malin's vintage apparel comes from her native Sweden and other parts of Europe, giving her store even more of a unique, one-of-a-kind style. Her clothes are frequently used in magazine shoots and special fashion events. Malin is usually in the store herself, so feel free to ask her for advice and tell her exactly what you are looking for.

Curation and Price Range

This store is expertly curated. Malin's follows trends not only from magazines and designers but from her customers. She pays close attention to what they are wearing and what they are in the market for and fills the store with those items. For this reason, Malin's price range leans more to the expensive side than some of the other vintage stores in the neighborhood. Expect to pay anywhere from $140 to $250 for a dress; about $100-$200 for pants and skirts, and less for shirts and accessories.

Shoes

Malin has an incredible selection of vintage shoes.

If you are looking for a unique pair of winter boots, head to Malin's. You can get a great pair anywhere from $100 to $300, but pay attention to the wear and tear and take that into consideration in terms of the price if you'll have to have future repairs done.

Dressing Room

There is a sizable dressing room but there is only one in the store, so be polite if there are other people waiting. Also be prepared to exit the dressing room in the clothes you're trying on - there's no mirror in there, so you'll have to check yourself out in the store. Malin will also be eager to see how the clothing fits, so be prepared for a hands-on, interactive shopping experience.

Erica Weiner Jewelry

Malin partners with Erica Weiner, a popular Brooklyn jewelry designer. Head to Malin's if you'd like to shop her work in person. Learn more about Erica Weiner at her website, http://ericaweiner.com/.
