How to Send an Easter Basket

    • 1). Assemble the items for your Easter basket. Put food items in a small container and gently shake. Open the container and check that they remain intact. This means they will be safe to ship. Choose an Easter basket that does not have a handle so that it is easier to pack. Lay a small layer of bubble paper on the bottom of the basket, add a generous amount of fake grass to add color and extra padding. Add your items in the basket, heaviest ones on the bottom. Tightly wrap the basket in colored cellophane. Place it in a box slightly larger than your filled basket. Pack recycled Styrofoam around the basket. Seal tightly. Place the box in a second box, and fill the space between the two boxes with more Styrofoam. Seal tightly. Wrap the box in brown paper, and write the address across the front. Mail box from your local post office.

    • 2). Buy a prepackaged Easter basket from an online merchant, catalog company or brick-and-mortar store that provides shipping. Many stores will provide free shipping with a minimum purchase. Provide the company with the name and address of recipient and have them ship the basket directly to your loved one.

    • 3). Call the Chamber of Commerce in the recipient's area or check an online directory for the telephone number or website of local grocery stores and florists. Check with the merchant about available products and local delivery options. Many grocery stores offer pre-made Easter baskets which can be delivered directly to the recipient's door.
