    Display Volume Control in Windows 98

    • 1). Click the "Start" button on the bottom left of the screen.

    • 2). Select "Control Panel" from the Start Menu.

    • 3). Click the "Multimedia" icon.

    • 4). Click the "Audio" tab in the "Multimedia Properties" box.

    • 5). Check "Show Volume Control on the Taskbar."

    • 6). Click "OK" to close the menu and apply the changes. The volume icon will now appear in the bottom right of the screen.

    Display Volume Control in Windows XP

    • 1). Click the "Start" button on the bottom left of the screen.

    • 2). Select "Control Panel" from the Start Menu.

    • 3). Click the "Sound, Speech, and Audio Devices" icon.

    • 4). Check "Change the Speaker Settings."

    • 5). Select the "Volume" tab from the menu.

    • 6). Check the box next to "Place Volume Icon in the Taskbar."

    • 7). Click "OK" to confirm. The volume icon will now appear in the bottom right of the screen.

    • 1). Right click the Windows orb in the bottom left of the screen, also known as the "Start" button.

    • 2). Click "Properties" from the menu.

    • 3). Click the "Notification Area" tab from the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" box.

    • 5). Click "Apply" then "OK" to confirm. The volume icon will now appear in the bottom right of the screen.
