Carla Hughes Verdict For Double Murder Case Could Be Life In Prison Or Death
Carla Hughes was a Jackson School teacher and was convicted of murder. Carla Hughes verdict could be life in prison or death penalty once she is found guilty in killing a pregnant woman. The killing took place on November 29, 2006 at the garage of the Ridgland home.

The jury of Madison County holding the Carla Hughes double capital murder trial asked the judge if they could have Carla Hughes called to the stand. But the judge did not permit and instead, instructed them to refer to their jury instructions. Further, Carla Hughes also stated that she could not testify on her own case. The trial finished with both sides possessing strong arguments.
In the end, the jury convicted Carla Hughes of primarily killing Avis Bank and her unborn child. Avis Bank was shot in the leg, buttocks and on the head. Bank was also stabbed on the face and neck. The prosecutor of Avis Bank said that Carla Hughes killed Avis Bank at her home to totally get rid of Bank and freeing Keyon Pittman. Carla Hughes and Keyon Pittman, who were teachers of the same institution, were suspected of having an affair. That is why Carla has strong motives of killing Banks.

The shoes were taken from the Hughes home as well as the gun of Hughes which matched the bullets shells that were found at the murder scene.
