How to Replace a Stove Burner

    • 1). Unplug the stove or turn the breaker off. You must shut down the power to the stove before continuing.

    • 2). Lift the burner up on the edge, It will be hinged, and will flip up slightly. Inspect the connection where the burner goes into the stove. Look for screws. If there are no screws, merely pull the burner straight out.

    • 3). Raise the hood or the cook-top of the stove if screws are attaching the burner to the electrical connection. If there is a porcelain or other insulator, pull the clips off and flip up the insulator to gain access to the screw terminals. Remove the screws with a screwdriver and pull the burner straight out.

    • 4). Replace the burner with a new one in the exact same way it came out.
