Welcome "Appaloosa"
Many lovers of western movies are appalled as to why this tradition has almost been driven to oblivion as if there is lack of appeal for it.
It seems that the days when western movies and books were made in abundance are long gone and lovers of this great tradition must only be content with reading or watching those old books and films that they have read or watched a thousand times, as not many of them are written or made these days.
It is wonderful and refreshing to see the appearance of Appaloosa.
Appaloosa lives up to the western tradition in every sense.
Starring Renee Zellwegger, Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen and Jeremy Irons among others it is very nice, interesting and entertaining to watch.
We witness how dangerous and difficult it was for Ed Harris and his deputy to maintain law and order in the town.
Unlike other westerns there is surprisingly less violence hence enjoyable for everyone including those who hate very violent movies.
It is surprising how sheer intelligence and bravery leads to resolution of highly volatile and tense situations without a single shot being fired, attesting to the fact that not all cowboys are as trigger happy and thereby questioning the long held erroneous perception that cowboys are all trigger happy.
When it is impossible to prevent a "duel" the gunfights ensue in the very spirit of the western.
Perfectly directed and acted, it will definitely go down in the tradition of the western as a classic.
