Comparing Hotels in Cincinnati
- Although most of Cincinnati is safe, there are a few areas that are more dangerous than others. For example, the neighborhood Over-the-Rhine has one of the highest crime rates in the city. USA Today reported it was the location of the Cincinnati riots in 2001. Inquire what neighborhood the hotel is in before booking.
- Look at what amenities are offered at the hotel in comparison to the cost of the hotel. Most large hotel chains offer continental breakfasts and indoor swimming pools. Cheaper hotels may only offer a bed, bathroom and television for amenities while others offer free wifi, exercise room, on-site restaurant and more.
- Hotels in the heart of downtown Cincinnati are more expensive than those on the outskirts or in the suburbs. Cheaper hotel rooms may be available across the river in Covington or in Newport, Kentucky. Look at multiple hotels before booking a room.
- If you are not using a car while traveling it is important for your hotel to be near bus stops in Cincinnati. The Metro (bus system) extends throughout Cincinnati and into some suburbs.
