How to Guard Against Electronic Pickpocketing
- 1). Remove the credit cards from your wallet. Place each card into its own RF (radio-frequency) card case. Place the RF card cases into the billfold section of your wallet. Remove a RF card case only when you are standing in from of the ATM machine or credit card machine. Return the credit card to the case once you are done using it. Return the case to the billfold section of your wallet.
- 2). Remove your wallet from your back pocket. Place the wallet into one of your side pants pockets; use the left pocket if you are right-handed, and the right pocket if you are left-handed. Do not allow anyone to bump into you from behind when you are standing in line at a bank or ATM machine. Keep your hands at your sides to prevent anyone pressing up against your sides to surreptitiously activate a credit card information stealing device.
- 3). Enter your credit card number only on websites that display a secure site seal. De-select the checkbox that will keep a record of the information you are entering on the site's server. Empty the web browser's cache prior to and after you have finished with the website. Delete the "cookie" file that has the name of the website prior to and after you have finished.
