How the Tart Is Making Its Way Back to the Kitchen

Tarts and pies were becoming a lost art at the dining room table, but recently the desire for these unbelievable pastries is on the rise.
In the past, the tart or pie dominated dessert, but now cake and other sweet recipes have taken over.
However, with recent innovation in cookware and prep equipment tackling these once difficult recipes can now be achieved.
So why are these desserts so hard to achieve? These desserts require a specific type of crust or shell to make them into the dominating dessert after a meal.
The crust can be very thin, layered, fluffy or crisp depending on the recipe or dessert you are undertaking.
The crust is made with flour, unsalted butter, sugar, salt and eggs.
Although there are many variations of the recipe, these ingredients are foundation to a great crust.
However, the crust for a tart is very fragile, and you have to be very careful when preparing it in the pan.
To add simplicity to the directions you can use a tart pan with a removable bottom.
To ensure your pastry is the correct size and consistency while rolling you should take the pan and flip it over the pastry and make sure the pastry extends at least an inch past the pan edge.
(This measurement can vary depending on the depth of the pan) Once you have rolled the pastry to the desire size you must use your rolling pin to gently wrap the pastry around it.
You then carefully unroll the pastry over the pan, trimming off the excess pastry around the pan.
Make sure you poke small holes in the pastry's bottom, this will prevent the puffing of the pastry while it is baking.
Next, place pie weights in the pan and bake it according to your recipe directions.
Pie weights are used to ensure that the pastry does not puff while it is cooking.
Once cooked and cooled you add any savory or sweet filling that fits your menu.
Bake again until finished, by using the pan with the removable bottom you are able to easily remove the tart from the pan and get it to the serving table.
Your guests will be pleasantly surprised that the tart has made its way back to you dinning table, and will leave talking about your unbelievable meal.
