Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder - OCD and Constantly Checking the Iron
OCD is just a way for us to cope with things that happen in our lives.
We have this need inside us to control what is going on around us and sometimes it's really hard to let go of this control but that is exactly what we're going to have to do if we are going to become OCD free! If you have the type of OCD where you keep checking the iron, this is understandable, since you may have a baby running around in the house who may accidentally pull the chord and have a hot iron land on his face.
We definitely don't want that so this I feel is the best thing that you should do as far as OCD with your iron.
The next time that you feel you have to check it again, don't do it.
make sure that it is not plugged in, if you know that, you know that it won't work.
I would also put it in a place where the baby or any other children or people at your house don't have access to it.
The reason that this is important is because if you keep checking the iron, I assure you that your OCD will not be getting better, but instead getting worse and worse and worse.
Take action: What you should do first off is to see a counselor to make sure that you don't have anything besides OCD.
If you have just OCD, make sure that when you turn off the iron you check it right there are you do it and make sure that it is not plugged in and then stored in a safe location.
If all these criteria are met, you should be in good shape.
