DIY: Faucet Leak
- 1). Shut off the water source to your faucet. If you don’t know where it is, turn off the water to your entire house.
- 2). Take off the handle for the faucet by unscrewing the screw that secures it using a Phillips screwdriver. If your faucet handle has a plastic cover over the screw, pry it off with a flathead screwdriver.
- 3). Remove the chrome cover that is tube-shaped. Use your fingers to carefully remove this. Use a small flathead screwdriver to pry off the “O” ring next to the tube.
- 4). Take off the brass collar with pliers, and pry off the plastic body from the collar with a flathead screwdriver.
- 5). Pull off the valve and valve seals with a flathead screwdriver. Replace them with the new valve seals.
- 6). Replace all the faucet parts as they were originally positioned and turn the water source on to your faucet.
