- 1). Download and install an application that can handle disc images. A few known applications that can handle the MDF file extension are Alcohol 120, MagicISO, and ISO Buster.
- 2). Launch the application.
- 3). Select "File > Open" and locate the MDF file. Click "Open." The application will open the disc-image file. You can then follow the instructions to burn the image to a CD or DVD. Once burned to a physical disc, you can then access the contained data--for example, if the MDF file contained a movie DVD, once you have burned it back to DVD you can play the movie on your computer or DVD player.
