- 1). Use Microsoft's Paint program to edit your yearbook photos. Begin by selecting "Start" then choose "All Programs" and scroll to "Accessories" and click on "Paint." This will bring up an "untitled document" which you can now save and name. You will also see the option to choose your file type. For printed documents or even online graphics that contain an photo your best choice is normally saving your document as a JPEG. You can change the size of your document by selecting "Image" then scroll down to "Attributes" and click it. You will see a dialog box pop up where you can plug in the width and height dimensions for your document. You may also want to choose a preset document size by going to "Page Setup" and then selecting within this dialog box "Size" where you will see that there are a large number of preset size types.
- 2). Bring the photos you intend to use in your yearbook by opening them first in Windows Live Photo Gallery. Right-click on the photo and click "Copy." In Paint you need to select "Edit" then click "Paste." Repeat this process with each photo you want to bring in to a document. For example, you may want to create a sheet of photos of students or you may wish to design a montage image for a page in your yearbook.
- 3). Use the tools within the toolbar to alter a photo or to make other changes or additions to your photos. For example you may wish to add text below it by selecting the "A" tool or you might even wish to create a decorative banner around your photos. This can then be added to another document with other photos to create a montage image.
